Reading this book felt like standing under fluorescent light. It is a story about body and identity, influenced by a string of commercials and advertisements. A's story takes place in grocery stores, sparcely decorted apartments, and the tangle of her own thoughts
I picked up this book after it was compared to Pynchon and Delillo. Without that comparison, I might have enjoyed this, but unfortunately I had to push myself to finish. As a debut novel, I think Kleeman had a lot of interesting ideas, they just didn't work together for me.
