wow. first, i'm very very extremely insanely glad that the quagmire triplets were alive but i'm really sad about every shit that happened to them. now, esmé? completely saw that coming, wretched witch. i hated her. also, i figured out the hook man when they kept mentioning his sleeves. and i desperately need to know what v.f.d stands for cause godd. and listen, i know this series won't end happily ever after, but please let the triplets end up alive man, those poor babies. i hope the baudelaire save them, but then again, hope is not lemony snicket's way of doing things, so kinda fruitless.

i'm not sure what to rate this. it was a very frustrating book but i enjoyed it immensely, even if that encounter between the baudelaires and the quagmires was so sad and bittersweet and ended up too abruptly. love this series so far, even if its contents make my heart hurt.
