“Oh to be sure, there is much we do not understand. The years pass in their hundreds and their thousands, and what does any man see of life but a few summers and a few winters? We look at mountains and call them eternal, and so they seem…but in the course of time, mountains rise and fall, rivers change their courses, stars fall from the sky, and great cities sink beneath the sea. Even gods die, we think. Everything changes.”

This book was really crazy. I fear it does suffer from second book syndrome, like nothing monumental happened, it felt like more of a transition period. I’m glad Bran and Rickon are ok, I was prepared to curse Theon’s entire bloodline. Theon and Davos’s povs I could have done without honestly. Had to force myself to retain any of the info from their chapters. Tyrion stays being my favorite character and pov, I loved the scenes where he was literally gentle parenting his wildlings lol. I keep waiting for Nymeria to show up for Arya! I would love to know if the third eye thing works for all the Stark children like it does for Jon and Bran, I think that would be really cool. Martin’s writing is just incredible though, no notes on that.
