After two years of wanting to give Lucy Foley a try and hearing the hype about this book, I decided to sit down and give it a read. The Paris Apartment was just the palate cleanser I needed for a fast-paced mystery/thriller. It’s not necessarily super unique or anything special, as I feel like it’s easy to guess most of what’s happening behind the scenes in the story and the beginning is a bit slow to get into, but I still had a fun little time wanting to see if my hunches were correct by finishing the story. The writing style also wasn’t really my favorite although I can’t quite put my finger on it… But I got a simple nice time and that’s what I wanted at the moment. I wasn’t ever really thrilled or scared or left seriously wondering what was going to happen next, but I was looking for a fast-paced fun time and that’s what I got. I finished it in a day and a half so that says something.
I’d really only recommend this if you don’t have super high expectations and would like a simple, palate cleansing thriller that you can go through quickly. I give it 3 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️
