Games We Played by Shawne Steiger

4.0

This is a clever story that explores the lifelong impact of two children playing games together and how they will need to come to terms with those games in order to move forward in their lives -- if they can. The writing is excellent as is the structure of the book which movies between different time frames. And there is a genuine, realistic tension as the story progresses to its ending. Despite its dark themes, it's an easy, engaging read. I really enjoyed it and it made me think about the power of childhood games and possible ramifications they might have.
