The Fifth Risk by Michael Lewis

3.0

Lewis’s books about financial markets & baseball sabermetrics became blockbuster films. But can even he make government infrastructure exciting? Slim & fast-moving, 5th touches on how Trump was jaw-droppingly unprepared to run the fed. But it’s really a love letter to 3 departments (energy, agriculture & commerce) & the smart career folks who do everything from predict tornados to find people lost at sea. Trump incompetence is fun, but it already feels outdated. The rest is sweet but small. This is Lewis in a minor key. I don’t see a movie here. Brad Pitt as Chris Christie?
