Blood Over Bright Haven is an very strong critique of power systems and the way they operate right under our noses. ML Wang weaves the intersections of class, sex and race into lens with which we view her world. The book shares quite a bit of thematic tone with RF Kuang's Babel but remains distinct and a provides a concise dark academia mystery that instantly pulls the reader in.
