The Thief of Always by Clive Barker
4.0

"There has to be some sane explanation."
"There is," said Harvey. "It was magic."

I really enjoyed this. It's one of those books like Something Wicked This Way Comes that can be enjoyed by middle grade readers and adults alike--both will get something different out of it. My only critique is that the protagonist didn't feel like a whole, unique person to me. I would have liked to know more about his home life, his interests, his dreams, etc. Still a fun read with nuggets of wisdom for all ages.

For fans of: Coraline by Neil Gaiman, Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury
