Ok ok ok, I adore this book! Blakely and Slade had me from the very first chapter and I love them.
Blakely is trying to find herself throughout this book. She has just recently divorced her husband, and while I've never gotten divorced, I could see why her confidence had taken a blow and why she was constantly wondering why Slade even looked in her direction. I really enjoyed her character and I loved seeing her confidence and self-esteem grow!
Slade is perfection personified and if I ever met a "Slade" in real life, I would also be a Blakely, no matter my age lol.
Slade is unbelievably sweet, charming, smart, and thoughtful. As I said before, he is literal perfection! I fell in love with him immediately. He was so sweet and understanding with Blakely! I also loved that he had his own (external) problems to go through and how he handled all of that.
Blakely's conflict is the main plot of the story so, while I loved seeing Slade's, I'm really glad that his didn't overtake and add too much to it.
I love reverse age-gap and I've had so much trouble finding books that I actually like in this trope, so I'm so happy this one was 5 stars for me!
