My Name is Will by Jess Winfield

4.0

I had this at five stars at first, then rethought and moved it down to four. I love the plot, the portrayal of drug culture, and the side characters; however, can't ignore that the lady characters are almost exclusively used as plot devices for the dudes' emotional development. Dashka gets to develop a little bit, and '85 Anne is allowed to be pretty strong, but the rest are cardboard cutouts for William and Willie to pinball off of, which is sad and inexcusable.
