Savage Lands by Stacey Marie Brown

Savage Lands is the first in the series and I was first introduced to this series by instagram. Its becoming really popular, and I read the blurb for the first book and it was so fascinating. I rarely see a UF that is more romance focused and this is a series that features the same couple all the way through. I will say that this book immediately pulled me in and I quickly became so addicted to the story. I just coulnd't put this one down and I love it all the way through. There is such great character growth within this story. I will say that this does get pretty intense and dark at times, so fair warning its not light and fluffy type of a read. I absolutely adored the way that this book was written though. It was super atmospheric, and so well detailed that it just made the book come alive for the reader.

I was completely hooked within this story here. I was so drawn into the heroine's character, she is such a badass at times. I loved seeing her push through the conflicts that she faced and overcome so much that she is faced with. We see the relationships that she builds within the prison, but also the enemies and we get some pieces starting to get put on the table and come slowly together. My heart just broke for the heroine though, she really has to go through so much but comes out stronger for it by the end of the story. The hero is a man of MYSTERY....HOLY SMOKES! I don't even know what to say about him because just reading him he is super intense and you can just feel the intensity of the chemistry and connected between the hero and heroine. I just know that their story is going to be wild and a crazy passion filled ride. There isn't that much steam, but keep in mind this couple has SIX books haha but I was totally fine with the level of steam. But if you are wanting a hot steamy book, you won't find it in this one here. But I have heard in reviews the later books have more steam. Now the ending, well it was a cliffhanger. Not the worst hangover in the world though, but it does make you want to pick up the next book to see what happens with the heroine and hero. But I enjoyed how it ended, lots of shock value. But as its in KU, I will be picking up book 2 pretty soon here.

Overall I found Savage Lands to be a intensely packed romance that is set in a atmospheric world in Eastern Europe. Its a Urban Fantasy Romance that will literally hold your attention and steal your breath away with each chapter. Its a layered complex story that will leave the reader yearning for more, and is captivating in every single moment! BREATHTAKINGLY CAPTURED!
