I’m genuinely not sure why this has won so many awards. I was hooked pretty fast and enjoyed it for a while, but at about the 40% mark I grew bored and wanted it to actually go somewhere. I felt like it never did. It’s definitely just a book about watching these people over a span of several years, but not very plot-focused or engaging in my opinion. I stopped caring about the characters because they weren’t doing anything interesting 😅 I’d only recommend this if you like character-driven “day in the life” type stories.
Graphic: Murder, Death, Suicide, Gun violence, Injury/Injury detail, and Infidelity
Moderate: Sexual content
