This book has been on my TBR for a while and I was very glad to see it pop up on my library app. I was sucked in right away in Iris’s life and her back and forth with Roman as they fought for the same position at work.

Iris was such a likeable character and you were really rooting for her to come out safe and sound. The story was engaging and had me hanging on to find out what happened next, even in the moments that were slow and lingering. It had this kind of mystical, otherworldly vibes that’s hard to explain.

This might be a niche comment to those of us from Australia, but every time they mentioned the name of the town, Oath, all I could think was… “Ken Oath”
