The Names
by Florence Knapp
The subject matter was absolutely heart wrenching, but I loved the concept. I appreciated that my assumptions about how the main character's lives would turn out based on the name they received were proven incorrect. The issues each of the characters struggled with were complex, and the ultimate message revealed itself to be that all children are affected by abuse, and it will influence them heavily throughout their lives.
