Before
by Anna Todd
I wasn't sure I wanted to read a companion novel to Hardin and Tessa's story, but I almost feel like I got more closure here than I did in the last book. So, I'm glad I gave it a shot.
Part 1: 'Before' is about the influential girls in Hardin's life prior to Tessa. I didn't get much out of this, but, I can see why Todd added them. It gives us a look in to their past.
Part 2: 'During' is the story from Hardin's perspective as he first meets Tessa and moves through portions of their relationship from the first book. I loved this part of the book. I could get inside Hardin's head and stay there for another dozen books if I could. This was my favorite and it's worth reading if for nothing else but this. I love his witty self.
Part 3: 'After' gives us snippets of Zed, Landon, Smith, Christian and some more 'Hessa'. I adored the Smith and Christian stories. Not only do we get the history of Trish and Christian, but we get Hardin interacting with Smith and Christian after Hardin has found himself. To close out the book, we get more Hardin and Tessa. This was what I wanted in the last book. This gave us more insight in to their day to day life once they finally got together. I loved this and I'm so glad Anna Todd gave us these moments. I will miss my time with these two.
