Firstly, I know I have a problem with starting a series and not being able to quit it (even when I don't particularly like the books). It's a personal thing and something I am working on. I know I need help.

Okay, I have been confused with the first 2 books but this one took that confusion to a whole new level. The ending of the second book was completely forgotten it seems as in that one, Peyton is out of hospital and getting a tattoo with Steele and he is apologising for not being there quicker to save her. However, at the beginning of this book, Peyton is back in hospital and being told that Capri is missing. What happened? Also, she gets with Colton again later and he makes no reference to her new body art so does she have this connecting tattoo to Steele or not?

It also annoyed me that Steele is again being awful to Peyton (which could be how he grieves for the death of his baby; by being horrible to the woman who lost the child in a horrific way(!). I'm just so over it. A little bit of brooding is fine in a story but he just seems to be having a constant toddler tantrum. He lays a claim to her when we are introduced to the twins so he likes her enough to fight others for her but he can't just be nice to her to her face? The whiplash of his feelings are just plain annoying by now.

Speaking of the twins, Peyton of course meets them and instantly starts dancing/grinding on them when again, Colton appears out of nowhere to stop them getting with 'his' girl. How are they now all back again at the exact party that Peyton didn't even know she was attending until a couple of hours before? This again happens when the twins invite Peyton to a car meet where they have barely been for an hour before the guys turn up to take her away to her first task. And when did this task suddenly turn up from? Where was the training and the prep before she just randomly had to shoot someone and that someone just happens to be someone she didn't like anyway.

A further annoyance is when Peyton asks her mum about Capri, she at first tells her she is at home to then admit in the car on the way home that she is missing. So, Capri's dad (Peyton's stepfather), hasn't told his wife that his daughter is actually fine to save her from worrying and hiring private investigators to search for her. But when the family gets back together, nothing is said about the fact that Peyton's mum was just left to worry about her stepdaughter. So, does her mum not fully know the man she has married or she doesn't care as long as everyone she loves is safe?

Lastly, when Peyton receives a blue ribbon in her locker, all the guys suddenly tell her to never be on her own, that they would be someone constantly with her. Colton even tells her not to walk home on her own for a while but come lunchtime the same day, she does just this. Steele annoys her and she just leaves, declining company from everyone who offers. At the end, Peyton gets with Colton who leaves immediately after 'finishing' and Peyton is kidnapped again before being brought in front of her father. At this point though, it doesn't feel like a cliffhanger anymore as I'm sure the guys will somehow once more swoop in to save the day.

As always, I think the storyline could've been great, it's just a real shame that all the books so far have been messy. I'd like to say that by the time the next book is out, that I will have broken myself of having to finish a series but I guess only time will tell. Read this series if you want a quick read but I won't be reading it again.
