jryanlonas 's review for:
Hannah Coulter
by Wendell Berry
Tender and earnest, if not terrifically metaphoric. All of Berry's fiction functions as a conduit for his philosophies, and it suffers for it. The trouble with being the greatest living essayist in the English language is that most people will have read your thoughts before they read your stories. Still eminently worthwhile.
