The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl by Issa Rae

3.0

I won this book in a giveaway, but never received my copy. Maybe it got swiped?
Regardless, it looked funny and I wanted to read it, so I borrowed it from the library.
I was completely unfamiliar with Issa Rae's other work, but she was compared to Mindy Kaling and I love Mindy Kaling. Issa Rae is equally as lovable, although I didn't find her to be as funny. There's moments, but I wasn't laughing out loud. It was fun and light, and relatable in the way that most stories of awkward girls growing up are.
