Witches Steeped in Gold by Ciannon Smart

3.0

This book jumps right into the action and there is ALOT going on in a magical world that I've never been to before so the beginning of the book was very difficult for me to follow. That being said I listened to the audiobook, which means that I didn't have access to the glossary at the end of the book. I believe if I'd had that as a reference to turn to as reading it would have helped me follow along a lot better. Once I finally was getting the gist of the story it was nearly over and I felt like I'd missed so much underlying information just trying to follow along.
I'll definitely read the next book in the series, and actually read the book not listen to the audiobook when it comes out. I'm loving all of these new magical books based on African and Caribbean mythology rather than the same old Greek mythology (this one is based on Jamaican mythology).
