This was my first Riley Sager book and let me tell you when a story actually never goes cold or misses. This had me at the edge of my seat the whole read, I read it in three days and every time I wasn't reading, I couldn't stop thinking about the characters and the many sideline stories and how well they would connect with the main plot. I did forsee how the main plot and Vivian would turn out, but boy was I pleasantly surprised when it actually did happen. There's just something about this book, the profound atmosphere it sets you in, the way it captures and completely encapsulates you until you're under water on the lake. This is phenomenal. I did get some Taylor Swift and Alison DiLaurentis vibes from Viv, I was just endearing to see it actually make the author's note. Oh, I have so much to say about this. The infuriating core of womanhood, how our minds are tricky, the mystical side effect of the very nicely described landscapes of Franny. The nature. Definitely has become one of my favourite books ever. I know I will forever hold on to this, as it will follow me through some years. Very easy, fun read. Would 100% recommend. Gosh I'm so excited to see more of this author now! Thank God this was a nicely done mystery
