Black Ties & White Lies by Kat Singleton
4.0
This was my first book by Kat Singleton, and it had been on my TBR forever. After seeing a reel featuring the steamy office email exchanges, I instantly fell in love with the idea of the book and couldn't wait to read it. It definitely didn’t disappoint! The backstory I didn't expected, the spice was off the charts, the story was engaging, and I loved most of the characters—except Carter.
The only thing that bothered me a little was Margo’s constant doubt about whether Beck was being honest, even after he explicitly told her everything between them was real. It felt like a classic misunderstanding trope, which isn’t my favorite. But aside from that, the story was addictive, and I absolutely loved it!
After finishing this, I can’t wait to dive into the next book in the series and explore more of Kat Singleton's works. The chemistry between Beck and Margo was phenomenal, and I was completely engrossed in their extracurricular activities! Their steamy email conversations were a particular highlight for me, and I loved how far Beck went just to get Margo’s attention when she was ignoring his calls—it was unbelievable yet so thrilling.
If you’re a fan of steamy office and billionaire romances, this one’s definitely for you. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves those tropes!
