The Brain: The Story of You by David Eagleman
5.0

I use highlights to help remember key information from a book, and this book had me highlighting page after page.

The brain, arguably the most powerful organ any living organism can possess, is the primary factor distinguishing humans from other beings on earth.

Author David Eagleman, a neuroscientist, uses impressive prose to narrate the book. It is divided into six chapters which explain what the brain is, how we perceive reality, how the brain controls the body, our decision-making process, and the future of brain-related scientific pursuits.

Initially, I was concerned that the book might be overly technical or abstract. However, Eagleman shares many real-world examples of brain conditions and behaviors, which kept me engaged throughout.

I'm confident that you'll gain a newfound appreciation for your 3-pound tool after reading this book.
