Making Love with the Land by Joshua Whitehead

4.0

Lyrical and compelling essays on being indigiqueer and how the author fits into western society. there are a lot of deeply personal essays (eating disorders, generational trauma, suicidal ideation) along with more academic looks at how indegenous communities have been impacted by western colonization. I felt some essays were stronger and more impactful than others, but overall it is a solid and powerful read. I do wish I had tandem read this with a physical/ebook as the narration could be hard to follow.
