This book helped me understand the human costs of armed conflict in a new way through a variety of short stories told from different perspectives. The writing was descriptive and some passages were shocking and disturbing. An important read.

Many military abbreviations were used (hundreds of them) and while I looked some up, I glossed over others. I wish that the book had a glossary of terms!
