Look, it’s days later and I am still running on vibes, feelings, and fumes. This book was so freaking good. I can’t stop thinking about it. Melissa never misses but godsdamnit even with that expectation, she still blows it out of the water every frigen time.

My brain is still reeling and I am not as eloquent as I’d really like to be, because Melissa deserves it after this incredible book but my thoughts don’t make a ton of complete sentences.

I am so obsessed with this whole universe. This book is not your typical fantasy romance, even as a dark romance. These characters are com-plexxxx. Morally grey to the point where I have both questioned IF this is a romance, and WHO is the actual villain lol. Their traumas, their relationships, their communication… woof. And they are so engaging. I am so ridiculously invested in them all.

The world building is vast, I have thoughts, I have theories. The plot is fast paced, the story is intriguing and full of twists and turns. Kingdom politics, games of the Gods, survival, masterplans, destiny, fate, self discovery. We had so many questions answered, so many new ones opened, and so many pivitol moments (YES TESSA YESSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!)

This book is just f—king epic. I am obsessed and I am dangerously close to the MKR universe becoming a core personality trait. I am terrible at committing to one favourite, but this has become a top 3 series for me for sure. I hope this babbling convinces you, you need to start Melissa’s book. Start at Rain of Shadows and Endings for Legacy series or Lady of Darkness series.
