Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins

An amazing sequel. Katniss struggling with the life of a Victor. Her and Peeta having to do the Victory Tour, trying to calm down the Districts
, which is never going to work. But also them growing closer, finding comfort in each other because they know each other and they know what they’ve gone through.

Then the news hitting of them having to go back. Peeta volunteering for Haymitch and the disappointment, but also relief that it’s Peeta who’s going in with her. Her trying to go in completely different: she doesn’t try to win, she tries to save Peeta. And in the end, her failing because she is just a pawn in a much bigger game.

The betrayal of Haymitch hit me quite hard this time. Him promising to Katniss that he will do everything he can to save Peeta, but going to save Katniss first. He is not only betraying himself with this action, but also Katniss. Katniss, who has grown fond of Haymitch and trusts him more than anyone else in this world.

I love the way the relationship is built with Katniss and Finnick.
How she is ready to kill him, until he saves Peeta. The guilt she then feels because she feels like she has to kill him.
It is so well written.
Overall, amazing book in an amazing series.
