REREAD 2019
I'm reading all the books again in preparations of reading [b:Magic to the Bone|29558243|Magic to the Bone (The Twenty-Sided Sorceress, #7)|Annie Bellet|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1458469174l/29558243._SY75_.jpg|49434964] for the first time.

I'm not sure if it is me listening to the whole series in one go, the timing, or if it's just the fact, but I'm sad to say that I'm fallen out of love with this series. When I first started reading it, it was new and original. Now, I see so many things borrowed from other well known authors - which is what authors do, but some do it in a way that hides it better. I also feel that the last two books have been rather aim-less. They're a lot heavier in their plot, and has a lot more haist feels to them, which I'm not really a fan of.

Like in this book. Jade is alone and needs to find someone, so she gets a new crew of awesome folks to help her break into a place. The whole book is about this. Yes, we get glimpses into what's going on with the others, but it feels a little wrong, somehow.

And then there's the ending. All the Deus Ex Machina!
Ok, yes, we have gotten hints of it before, but the way it's done doesn't really do the series credit.

So, here I stand, finding I've outgrown a series that I really liked, finally ready to start reading the last book of this arc, and I'm not sure if I should. Should I take a small break from this series, just one book, and come back with fresh eyes, or should I just push through? I honestly don't know.
The newness of the next book might save it from my slump, or it might not...

And so I got my hands on the next audiobook in this series. I could probably just buy them on Kindle, but I'm invested in hearing them all now.
Also, I'm really looking forward to the last book being out so I can do a re-listen of the whole series! Could probably get them all down in half a month.

But, to this book.
It picks up right after the last one and has a split POV between Jade and Harper, which is good 'cause the ending in the last book... wow, it stressed me out.

As usual, well written and lots of fun geek references for my generation, which I love.
Also, an interesting twist toward the end. Really looking forward to getting my hands on the next book!
