Y’all… Hendrix is making a fucking career off of standing out for his cover art. Out here making all the other horror writers look dumb, what an icon.

But this story is also lovely. I wasn’t alive in the 80’s so I’m assuming there’s references that went over my head but it didn’t feel as cloying as like… Ready Player One or anything. There’s a fun nostalgia factor for sure. I also loved the format of this book! There’s so many little bits and bobs added into the narrative that were a total hoot.

What I’m learning about the author though is that while his blurbs sound funny and light hearted… his actual books are not. Shit gets gross and things get scary. This isn’t an easy romp with 80’s music (well it is sometimes but you know what I mean).

Generally I don’t fuck with the possession stuff much because it turns into Christian lit which I’m uninterested in but there’s a lot more to this one if you’re worried.
