I decided to read this because of a tiktok I saw and... yeah, that was a mistake. I felt like I was reading about 20 year olds, not people in their mid 30s. There's immature, and then there's how the people in this book were written. They were so crass and parts of it were just plain gross. This zipline scene where she peed on herself? What the fuck was that? Yuck. It was cringey at times and I just didn't see the humour.
Evangelines nickname was fucking weird. Vangie? 1. It felt eerily similar to being called a vagina. And 2. I just thought of "miss vaaanjie" (from Rupauls drag race) every time I read it. It was very off putting. And Savage? What kind of nickname is that for a 4/5 year old?
I didn't see the romance between the 2 MCs. I feel like they had good chemistry but all they seemed to care about was fucking. Even when he was grovelling to her he made it about the sex.
It was very disappointing.
