12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos
by Jordan B. Peterson
DID NOT FINISH
This book does not need to be a book. It’s essentially a series of essays on each of the 12 rules, but the essays could and should be much shorter. In the first essay, “Stand up straight with your shoulders back,” the author writes at great length of the social structure of lobsters, which, ironically, don’t stand up and don’t have shoulders. The premise is that females will always be biologically attracted to what we’ve come to call “alpha males.” And this rule basically suggests that we should act like alphas even if we aren’t alphas.
