Please Look After Mom by Kyung-sook Shin

5.0

This book… THIS BOOK!! Where do I begin?? Whenever I think about my own mother, I start crying. Not in a bad way, but in a ‘I love you so much and I want to give you the world but I can’t’ way. Even though this book was rich with Korean culture and history, I found myself picturing my own mother in some scenes. I thought the switch in POVs was really interesting, and it didn’t distract me from the story at all. I would recommend this book to someone who has t called their mom in a while, someone who hasn’t visited home in months, someone who hadn’t said I love you to their own mothers in a few days.
Please, everyone should read this book, and remind themselves that their mothers have done so much for them, and is children don’t even know half of the story.
Please, please look after mom.
