This book deserves so much more recognition. It made me remember why I loved reading fantasy. At the same time it’s truly unique. A beautiful and important tale about colonialism, freedom and sacrifice. The second half of the book kept me on the edge of my seat.
It’s dark, it’s grim, it’s frustrating. Characters make mistakes and the consequences are catastrophic.
I adored it.
