Well that was an unexpected gut punch. I had no idea this book was going to hit me in the feelings as it did, especially toward the end. This is the third book in the Jane Yellowrock series and my favourite by far. Jane has slid right in next to Kate Daniels and Mercy Thompson as my top badass women in Urban fantasy. Hell in fantasy overall.

She's a badass, she's intelligent and she has heart. Her struggles and development throughout this installment really tugged on my heart strings. I have no idea where her story goes from here, but I can't wait to find out.

As for the general plot of this book, I love how it expands and opens up this world even more. Watching Jane basically get thrown in the deep end trying to navigate vamp, were and human politics while trying to solve seemingly unrelated mysteries was intriguing and intense.

I don't want to say anymore but I would highly recommend this series to anyone looking for their next UF fix. As with any urban fantasy series I would advise checking out the trigger warnings. I'm so thrilled to have discovered this series and I'm genuinely excited to see where it goes next.
