Did I purchase the box set of the series before even reading the first book? Yes, yes I did. Did I also take advantage and buy the 5th book during the Barnes&Nobles hardcover sale before reading the first book? Yes, yes I did. No regerts!!! I actually really enjoyed this book 😮‍💨 thank goodness, amirite!? 😅 Fantasy books are not a genre I typically read and I’m honestly not sure why. It might be the world building and names and everything thrown at you in the beginning, it can feel a bit overwhelming, but this book didn’t feel like that at all. I enjoyed the story and it was easy to keep up. I was invested early on despite the unlikeable characters,  and it was just a fun book overall. I recently learned the book is meant to be a Beauty and the Beast retelling, which I can kind of see but barely. In a good way though because that was not something I was expecting so I don’t mind 🤷🏻‍♀️ Even though the story feels complete to me, I definitely look forward to the second book in the series and being immersed in it all over again. Also, it’s nice to be able to understand the ACOTAR lingo now
