Twice shy started slow. So slow I almost DNF it. There were scenes of Maybell Parish daydreaming and sometimes I couldn’t tell which part of the book was the dream or real life. Things started getting better in the second half, when the two main characters started talking much.

The plot is predictable, with the familiar enemies to friends trope. Both the main characters have anxiety in different ways. One shy away from human interaction and the other doesn’t speak up for what she wanted and retreats to the happy mental imagination she creates. I loved how the author writes about anxiety, it was very well represented and I could related to some anxiety symptoms I personally experienced written in the book. Overall, its a great book if you want to learn more about anxiety and panic attacks or love romance without too much steam!
