More action, less angst

In book three in the series Sophie goes to another island for a case so she and Connor are separated. She works with her friend Lei, a cop (whose own series the Paradise Crime series is spun off of.) The Case the security firm is working on involves attempted burglaries at an excavation site. It escalates to murder and Sophie is involved, as a civilian which she really hates, in the investigation. More action, more near death experiences, more injuries, more uncomfortable interactions with her partner Jake who is still interested in her, less computer sleuthing (which I miss), more colloquial phrases Sophie doesn’t understand, less talk of the depression, more advancement in her relationship with Connor.

My favorite book in the series thus far.
