Things I Wish I Told My Mother
by Susan DiLallo, James Patterson, Susan Patterson
2.5 stars. Rounded up.
This was cute, quick, funny and heartfelt.
Definitely not my favorite read. It wasn’t nearly as in depth as I thought it would be. It was a bit clipped and choppy in writing style. The scenes and interactions felt really zoomed out and too quick. There are some … huh …. moments that just feel a bit strange and out of place. But it made me laugh at loud at points and it’s definitely a book that transports you to a different place.
I wouldn’t recommend this as a serious read, despite the title. Pick this up when you want some light, mindless reading and a book you can finish in a day.
✨
I don’t even know how to begin explaining how that plot twist made me feel. I can’t tell if I liked it or disliked it. I thinks it’s a little of both.
I even read beforehand that there was a plot twist but I never ever imagined that one. I gave it a whole extra star for the jaw drop alone.
