To be frank this book was just not very good. I had heard about the film adaptations but haven't seen either and the premise sounded fun so I went for it. It certainly was not particularly fun at all though. This book attempts to take the angle of being a feminist take on Sherlock Holmes but really this just means a lot of comments about undergarments and some child abandonment on the side. Like I get that a preteen girl that hasn't reached puberty yet is going to find corsetry uncomfortable but it was mentioned constantly. It was a cool idea how they were used as a storage space/tool to escape kidnapping but this is also pretty far-fetched given that corsets are supposed to fit you closely otherwise they are useless!

I didn't particularly like any of the characters and the plot was a bit all over the place. This book is probably better if you are in the age range it is target towards but I just found it irritating.
