“I am a god of people. Of little lies, little hopes, little stories. Middren has not been kind to me, but its people have.”

This was just the sort of ending that this series needed. High stakes, tense, and emotional. This finale continued on what its predecessors brilliantly founded - a fascinating world of interesting gods and faith, solid and loveable characters, deep and ongoing queer and disabled representation, and a fearsome and looming threat.

Being back in these pages, amidst these characters - watching them grow and develop was something special. I have really loved watching these characters blossom over the course of this trilogy. Whether it be coming into their power, healing from old wounds, or finding something worth living for. This series really shone in the fully realised and actualised arcs of Inara, Skedi, Elo, and Kissen.

Now this finale wasn’t perfect. Some of the battle scenes were hard to follow and unclear in places (and that was only the fault of me having to take my glasses off due to tears once). And the pacing struggled to find its footing amidst the various POVs throughout. But at the end of the day, this was a strong end to a strong series. An ending that did this collection of misfit characters and their arcs justice. Truly the ending this series deserved.
