The False Prince

What a breath of fresh air from the usual YA book (meaning romance) so let’s start with the characters. I absolutely adore Sage. His personality is the kind of personality I love in a character. Smart, witty, clever (wait, are witty and clever the same thing?) and an absolute fool. Now for the other false princes, Tobias and Roden. Tobias had a very interesting character. Smart, but in a book smart kind of way, not in a real world kind of way. Roden was also very interesting, I never expected him to team up with Cregan. I also didn’t like how he was an eager puppy, it was so annoying. Okay so now Mott, I really want to know his backstory and more of his personality. Does he like working for Conner? Did he develop fatherly feelings towards Sage? He left me with many questions, but to make this review sort of short (okay not really) I will stop now. Last up is Connor. Does he have mental problems? Did he actually think what he was doing was right? I guess so. Now for the plot. As I said before it was so refreshing not to have romance the center of the book (although I do enjoy romance). I have never read a book similar to this plot so I’m glad that I chose to read it. I loved how the plot had so many different twists and turns such as Cregan and Roden teaming up against the rest of the characters. So you may be wondering why I didn’t give this book a five. It’s because a book has to be a real eye opener or have amazing writing to truly be a five star book in my opinion. The writing was good, but not J.K Rowling good. But I still love this book and recommend it to everyone.
