Glass, Irony and God by Anne Carson

5.0

I absolutely loved this book. It contains one of my favorite pieces Anne Carson has written ("The Glass Essay") as well as several other long-form poems that combine her expert understanding of human emotion and expression with her classical / mythic knowledge. Her work is moving and beautiful, as always, with my favorite pieces being "TV Man" and the closing essay titled "The Gender of Sound." I cannot recommend this enough; easily a classic and one of my favorites.
