This Is How You Lose the Time War by Max Gladstone, Amal El-Mohtar

challenging medium-paced

4.0

a really interesting sci-fi world with time travel that evolved into a beautifully written sapphic love story with such gorgeous prose that read more like poetry. especially the letters between red & blue.

the PET NAMES !!! the absolute YEARNING !!!
i am such a hopeless mess for yearning & star crossed lovers in any form of media.

definitely a bit out of my comfort zone with all of the sci-finess, but i’m very glad i picked this up and gave it a chance.

”you’ve always been the hunger at the heart of me, red — my teeth, my claws, my poisoned apple. under the spreading chestnut tree, i made you and you made me.”
