Blame It on the Tequila by Fiona Cole

5.0

This covers so many different tropes- second chance, stepbrother, past trauma, rockstar- that I wasn't sure what to make of it, but I absolutely LOVED it. I got sucked in from the first page and read it straight through to the end. I usually struggle with stories that weave the past with the present in alternating chapters, but it's done here so adeptly that I actually enjoyed that. Plus, it added to the suspense and angst as you build up to the twists and turns as you follow along on Nova and Parker's journey from young love, to reconnecting as adults and moving past hurt and trauma to rediscover love again.

This dealt with some heavy topics, but did it so well. I loved the emotions and angst we experience as we follow them on their path- such a well written book! Now I can't wait for the next one - the brief glimpse we get of what is to come with the next couple was so short but had me laughing out loud!
