I loved this trilogy. This book focused on the aspects of completely rebuilding a functioning society years after the volcano: housing, food production, government, military. It was fascinating. It felt like a great ending (though there's supposedly a 4th book coming in 2018) to an action-packed series and gave me way more than I ever expected from a YA dystopian novel.
