I am still new to fantasy books, but this one captivates me from page one. It felt like ‘when Harry Potter meets originals’ and I loved every minute of it. The only reason I didn’t give the book 5 stars was that I felt as if the plot was not clear. But the author still managed to keep my eyes glued to the pages. I grew a special place in my heart for each character. I hope that the sequel shows us more of Maggie’s new world, lets us know if the first family ever officially claims her, and it hope to see a beautiful forbidden relationship start to form between Maggie and Namir. Also, Souxie needs to put more effort into learning how to change my boy Quan back into a human.
