I am absolutely bewildered by this book and had no idea that this is what would happen from the blurb. A serial killer??? It was so much darker than I thought it would be. It was too fast paced I feel and everyone was wayyy too okay with all the murders. Like why were the kids left to themselves to watch each other? They couldn't get any adults at ALL? I get that they have Seen Some Shit in their worlds or whatever but what the fuck it was worse than Harry Potter . I'm so confused. It felt like an extended prologue to the series and its focus was to set up the following books, rather than tell Nancy's story. Very odd. I read this cause of the ace rep but idek if it was worth it.
