This book was incredible. I went into it with really high hopes, and I anticipated it being a five star read for me as soon as I read the synopsis.

I loved every single element of this story. I loved the dual yet single timeline, the relationships that were romantic, platonic, and familial, and how elegantly the topic of grief was handled.

One of my favorite parts of this book was how many times Iwan and Clementine came together throughout the years without her realizing it at the time. It reminded me of the invisible string theory and it added an extra element of tension and longing to this story.

Another thing that I enjoyed that goes along with something I didn’t like was how Iwan truly fell in love with Lemon over the course of 7 years and waited for her/looked for her, while it was realistically only a few months of longing/waiting from Clementine’s perspective. I am a huge fan of the MMC falling first though, so I didn’t mind.

My favorite quote from this book was, “At first, I hadn’t been sure what his favorite color was, but it turned out that he’d been saying it this entire time, repeating it, over and over, every time he called my name. Because his favorite color was the same as mine.”
