Periods Gone Public: Taking a Stand for Menstrual Equity by Jennifer Weiss-Wolf
3.0
three stars always feels cruelly low, even though it signifies that I liked the book. and I did like the book! I would recommend it in a hurry to anyone who's just learning about the many social, legal, and political issues surrounding menstruation and its associated products, because this book makes for a broad and breezy primer. baby feminist freshman me would have INHALED this.
granted, I'm not a baby freshman feminist anymore. while I appreciated Weiss-Wolf's dedication to staying critical of corporate feminism and spotlighting the plight of homeless and incarcerated people with periods, I could have stood for a LOT more incorporation of trans, nonbinary, and gnc perspectives.
