I won a free copy of this book but that in no way relates to my review.

I did like the idea of this book but there were too many negative aspects for me to really love it.
First off, I was not a fan of the writing style. It is mostly told from the main character, her life (mainly around motherhood and her past) and telling us everything that unfolded. It slips back into her time as a child and her mothers childhood, sometimes gets a bit confusing.
Second, it is a very in-depth telling of her experience with motherhood that many people may be uncomfortable with as it isn't always positive and it isn't sugar-coated in the least.
Third, there were several editing mistakes but I put this off to having received an early copy (before the official release date).

The story starts off like it will be a "Mommy Dearest" type of story but about halfway through switches to "The Good Son" or "Baby Teeth" feel and then just keeps us slightly confused as to what may be really going on.

Overall it seems from the reviews people love it or hate it and I can see reasons for both reactions. I land in the middle as the story idea was really good but the finished product needed some polishing to be better.
