OK! This was disappointing, especially because I liked the first half of the book. I was interested to see how the past would translate into the present context. However, I didn't like how the plot was set up in the middle, the execution was poor and muddled. I didn't like the ending, either. I feel like the author is approaching this book from the eyes of her inner-child, and that being translated into the protagonist's perception of the abuser was not realistic, to say at least. The book deviated towards normalisation of abuse. The abuser, in my perspective, wasn't held accountable for his mistakes.
Atlas saved this book, though. Such a sweetheart!
